just had a wild ride in the car pc world, for 2 weeks it was just a nightmare. it would start back up right after it tried to sleep, the motherboard would lose its time, the gps simply wouldnt work... and none of it was for any apparent reason. it was working fine one day, worked like crap the next. i thought it was clearly a motherboard or m2atx problem, it seemed like a hardware fault.

it was so bad that i had to revert to full shutdowns every time.. even then it wasnt right but at least it was halfway working. thing is, a few days later the gps started working every time, everything was seemingly normal... so i enabled hibernation again. surprisingly, its fine. everything works now, perfectly. the only changes were a new bios battery (old one wasnt dead though) and rearranged the harddrive power connector to be less prone to flexing. the harddrive might have been the problem the whole time... but i really dont know.

sucks honestly... i hate weird problems but at least its working. anyone else go through similar things? (im sure)

Just getting worried at the lack of response, especially for an online store. At least with a physical shop I can go down there (And get physical if needed!!) :)
So does anyone know the go? :noidea:

I'm in the market for a new used car and was wondering what your opinions are of the easiest and/or best car to mod for a carputer. I'm thinking double-din at least for an in-dash lcd. Integrating to the OBD-II for diagnostics. I've read about how BMW's are nice because of the ibus...are there any other cars that have comparable features for integration? I honestly don't have much preference for a car besides being a small-midsize four door sedan (may go with 2 door coupe, but probably not), so the best criteria I can think of for choosing is which one I can mod the best! Thanks for your inputs!

I have been thinking as I'm sure a bunch of us have thought of this. Do you ever think that the big name car manufacturers will ever add functionality for a PC into there units?

Whether it would be a full PC running some type of Windows OS (excluding CE which many already run) or as simple as a VGA/DVI/HDMI input with USB touchscreen & audio connectivity?

To me its seems like it would be a simple solution to add this input capability. Many of these systems are running Windows CE. Upgrade the display, add input functionality for video, touchscreen and audio. To me this would be a great solution.

Ive decided that HiJackZX1 isnt really appropriate because they really dont look a like. The real HiJack is a truck, and I drive a SUV. The difference has started to bug me. So Ive decided to rename the car, but want your feed back.

The first name would be the Bass Cruizer, which is also a high multimedia SUV from the Ridge Racer Game. Now to technically make mine the Bass Cruizer, I would have to add more Bass!

Variations would be between the Warpman and Danver versions.

Second name, the Devil / Angel Kid Cruizer. This would be a combination between the Angel Car and the Devil Car, which are literally icons in the Ridge Racer games. On Ridge Racer Revolution there was also a Kid Devil Car, I dont want to just go with the Devil because I believe in balance so I have to have the Angel too, lol. I may drop the Kid tag though!

Would have the iconic devil and angel logos, also with other Namco logos.

Third name, would be to maybe just drop everything and name it simply the ZX1. It would still have logos, but no main name.

Fourth, you guys come up with a name, but has to be based on Ridge Racer and or Namco games. (Please no Mr. Pac man Car).
