That's correct. It compares the files on the PC running the server application with the files on the PC running the client. Any files found on the server but not the client are transferred to the client. If you run a client on your car and a server on your home PC, then files go from the home PC to the car, but not the other way around.

I'm anxious to play with this, sounds like exactly what I need. Now if I can figure out why my wireless stopped working...arg, always a new problem right when I get one fixed.

Haven't had a chance to try it yet, looks very promising. Does it support one server and multiple clients, ie multiple carputers? Not that I actually have multiple carputers at this time, but it may be useful for my laptop as well. Thanks.

Within reason yes. It will support as many clients as you like as long as they are all configured the same way (must log on as same user id and password, and require same directories syncing).

It won't accept multiple concurrent connections - one at a time please !

I have now released version 1.8 of EZSync.

- Partial file synchronization is now implemented. If the connection is lost during a sync, it will resume exactly where it left off next time it connects. So if you're syncing a large file it no longer has to be done all at once.

- Available disk space on the Car PC now displayed in the server window (drive C: only)

- Minor changes to the user interface on the server side.

See the link in my signature for downloads. Use the upgrade if you already have 1.6 or 1.7 installed, and the client will be installed automatically next time you sync.

Regards,
Ric.

Wow, unfortunately I'm stuck at work on a Sunday. I will be checking this out when I get home within the next two days. Looks like an awesome app!

Can you be more specific about the error?

Edit: The server application only generates one ini file error, and that's the one which tells you you haven't configured it properly. Check the installation instructions on the web site.

This is very cool - thanks contaygious.
I was going to write something similar until I saw your app.
Now, what would be killer would be to have more than 1 server defined in the client...
I'd like to be able to sync up a directory set at home, and then also add tunes to the car in work...

Just my 'feature suggestion'
