I have a question that hopefully you can help with. I just installed EZsync. I created a network drive to my carpc; X on my server pc I added couple of directories with mp3 files in them. I changed the TARGET to the X drive. The client makes the connection and says synchronization is complete but I don't see any files on my carpc. I can get to the drive from my server pc also. Any thoughts? The target drive in the INI file (server) is X:

Will it take a while before it shows up in that folder??? BTW, I'm using comulative mode

You don't need to create any network drive maps between the two.

You install the client on your car PC and the server on your home PC. Both apps must be running for the sync to occur. Set the target to be a local location of where you want the files. eg c:\music refers to c:\music on the car PC. By default the target is to put it in the same place on the car PC as is on your home PC. Any missing directories will be created automatically.

Nothing was transferred because your car PC doesn't have an x: drive.

For full info see the web site.

Ric.

yeah EZSync doesn't need network drives to do the syncing. It's pure client-server. That's what I like most about this app. I could be in Canada and syncing up with my home PC in Virginia.

Thanks Ric; that was what wasn't clear to me. After some messing around and trying different things it came to me. I think you should state that the Target path refers to the path on the CarPC and that no network drives are needed. But of course at 2:00 AM that may not help either! I just think a quick mention of that might get someone who is thinking remote share via network or UNC type path will get it and get back on track.

Thanks
