How does EXSync compare files? Datestamps?

My PC music library has unfortunately been 'touched' by WMP11, and it changed the 'Date Modified' date on all files. Now EZSync is trying to sync every single one of my files to my CarPC, because it thinks the files have all changed.

How does EZSync determine the files are supposedly newer? Comparing Date Modified property? (Date Modified Car < Date Modified PC ) ?

I changed the Date Modified = Date Created, hoping this would help, but apparently it did nothing for me, and all files continue attempting to sync...

It compares the last modified time of the file on the server computer against the last modified time of the file on the client computer.

To stop a sync, you should touch the files on the Car PC (i.e. the PC running the client) so that the last modified time is more recent than that of the file on the server.

Thanks ric!

So, I imagine the same effect is achieved by making the Last Modified date on my PC files (server) is older than what I have in the car...? Will try giving the Last Modified date a very old value in my home PC files...!

Since this app already runs a server wouldn't using an md5 checksum be better than using the modified timestamp?
