Here's my advice, I would try to find or order a door for the glovebox and then make a costum MDF mounting recovered with some leather behind the door. That way you could close the glovebox and HIDE everything...OEM looks when closed.
Theres a bounce of thread where you can learn how to make some nice MDF boxes, try google ...there's always something good!!!
Good luck and keep us updated!

most cars have the cabin air filter behind the glove box. check your forum or w/e you use to make sure its not behind the glove box because if you need to replace one [every 30k (for mazda6) dependin on the car] youll have to take the whole SOB out which i could guarentee wont be a fun job.
just somethin to think about

he's suggesting that you may have an air filter behind the glove box that should need to be replaced if it gets dirty, it's a maintenance thing, so if you had such a situation, i would suggest making your glove box door still open as it used to, dont fiberglass it shut.

Well, I got to this thead late but would still like to offer my advice. get some wood and build a frame that fits into that section, once it fits in there good with about 1/8'' gap all along, I would take the screen's bezel and use wood dowels or pop sicle sticks to hold the screen in place where you want it, then stretch your fleece over it and resin it. Then the process just follows of adding glass/bondo sand prime paint.
Also since you want to make it removable, I would suggest using industrial strength velcro, velcoing the back of the frame you made and velcroing the actual metal where the glove box would sit, this way it stays in place well, and will still be removable.
=)
EDIT; Just read u got your glove box.

http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f26/te...nd-two-208071/
it helps a lot. i dont understand wat u meant tho when u said popsicle sticks, how would those hold it in place? i could make it so the screen is in there forever, but not sure if i want to. thanks guys

oh, you would glue the bezel of the screen with the popsicle sticks, then you stretch the fleece over everything and resin it, the resin makes the fleece as hard as a rock. I am not sure how much you know about glass, so it is kinda hard to explain things in depth, but with the glove box, that is a cake job, I have done some just like that, but not for a s-10, just cut the glue box and CA glue the bezel in place, sand it all down, bondo, primer, paint.
hit me up
exus28 AIM, if you need more help, this has been my profession for a couple years, so i could probably lend u a brain
