Flush mount help plz.

I am working on installing a flush 8" screen into my 300ZX. The screen I have is listed below as well as the spot I am looking for it to go into.

I am going to have to remove the casing of the screen to mount it into place as I just dont have the room w/ the casing.

Has anyone ever done this? Any pictures or info on how to do this?

Here is a pic of the screen:

Here is the location I want it to go in:

Looks like there's a clock there at the bottom below the HU. Do you really need that? Since there looks to be one on the HU as well? My vote would be to take the clock out, move the HU down to where the clock is, and use that space above to mount the screen.

Mounting flush shouldn't be a problem since it looks like you'll have ample space depth-wise there. You'll definately need to use some sort of 'filler' or compound to make it look good though.

What you'll need to do is take measurements of the screen both in and out of it's casing. Then take measurements of where you're wanting to put it. Play around until the numbers line up and then use that as a starting point.

Thanks for the feedback.

I cant remove the clock as a turbo times will go there and there is not much room in the back of it. I will be removing the desk (CD palyer) the pocket and the AC vents and would want to mount the screen there. How do I make the screewn flush w/o messing up the glass screen?

Also, anyone seen these mounted flush w/o the casing?
