so, i need some help with this.
A moron friend of mine said that he could do this for me... And so i delivered the car to him in good will and hoped for a good result. But as you can see at the pictures.. This did not turn out well So now i`m asking for some tips on how i should do this?
ive been thinking about getting a new dashboard.. or can i fabricate something myself?


Also added a mini fabrication i did
Bought an volt meter for sticking in your 12v output. Found my screwdriver and did the magic :P Drilled some holes in my dash and used sandpaper for last finish and fitting it properly. Glued and wired it up. All this took about an hour :P

Wow man... That doesn't look good at all... Friends suck sometimes! I'd say use what you have, and try fabrication. If it turns out crappy, no harm done, no loss anyway since you are thinking about buying a new one anyway. All kinds of how-to's and projects around these parts... surely help you get on your way.

That whole dash piece needs to be pulled from the car and the bezel needs to be molded in, and then the dash p[iece needs to be repainted,

Hahahaha, wth kind of help was that, if any?

With so much space available, you could also just make a mold around the screen in order to place it flush if you're not looking into molding it in place. You will have to repaint the entire dash piece.

I think i`l try to fix this one by my self :P with some fiberglass or something

but does someone know how to make the "sand paint"? the plastic is blue with those little dots in it.. If you guys know what i mean?

I tried to make my friend pay for this mess, but he wont.. so i guess were not friends any more :/

or even do it for free, because I feel bad for you...
Personally I like to use bondo, because to me its easy to work with. I use cardboard to cut pieces if I'm fabbing something, then bondo over it to get the shape. That way you keep the bondo to a minimum. I can send you some pics of what I've done if you need some tips..
