My Durango has a dash with unique texture. I cant seem to find it, so I went ahead and cut the dash. The screens now close 100% percent. the dash is vinyl.

My parents have this weird thing about looking countryish............. I make fun of them all the time. Once again magnets will hold it up....

PS: I posted this message yesterday, but MP3CAR was messed up and put the date as 12-11-2001, so it bumped it up to the top and didnt notify anyone a message was posted.

Putting magnets too close to the screen may cause you some problems. Try it out, but dont say I didnt warn you.

With CRTs, that's definitely a problem. I haven't seen any LCDs with screen damage from magnets, though.

ive kinda started to focus on were the PC is going. I decided that mounting it on the back of the passenger seat was a bad idea. Ive decided to make a new rear center console to house the PC. The dash I decided to allow Nexson to do, but in order to do so, I have to save up money. I know its going to cost a bit since he has to design alot of it from scratch.

LOL, but not so bad. The MDF that will make up the base of the console was 12.95. The vinyl will cost about 16.00 for 2 yards. The screws, epoxy, and little things about 20.00. The rest of the console is recycled from the original seat that was there. At this point I am being very, very cheap. I have to get the budget under control. As for the PC, all the cables have been relocated with no issues, thankfully i went over board with cable length when I did the second install, so I didnt have to extend anything for the 3rd install.

PS: the last post on my worklog has pictures!
