Has anyone made external plastic boxes for GPS mouse/antenna?

I'm envious that my friend's Honda Accord has a little nub on the back of the roof to house his antenna, and I'd like one myself large enough to put my Deluo GPS and Kenwood Sirius antenna in it. Unfortunately, I'm uneducated in fabrication and uninspired in design (but have no problem drilling my car full of holes); I was wondering if anyone else had already done it. I'd be interested in pictures!

Also, I came up with this crazy idea to buy a fiberglass or plastic hood scoop off of eBay and put the antennas in there, but don't have the balls for it. There's some cheap one for $20 that's listed a gazillion times that looks plain, and a few nice fiberglass ones that look like alot more metal-cutting and putty-filling-repainting than I can handle...

Lookin' for easy love,

Some people have had sucess mounting them under the dash (out of sight) - may be an option.

My XM radio antenna is external.. and is attached to my trunk outside with a magnet. Looks large enough for a gps.. so I was thinking.. maybe.. it can house the gps.. since I dont use the xm.

But I would need a carputer first.... well cash first then a carputer.. *sigh*

Well I am doing that exact thing right now.... just finished painting in last night.... but it is by no means snazzy looking. It basically is a small acrylic box, covered in fiberglass and bondo (to smooth it out) and the sprayed with SEM dash texture and black paint and clear coat.

The shape is a simple flattened cube..... That goes better with my interior (84 Corvette, which has a very straight line dash and interior).... the only snazzy part is the addition of Matrix Orbital graphics LCD, which is on the front face toward the passenger compartment.... It is totally for eye candy, but I think will look cool....

I think I forgot to say the box will hold the GPS mouse and an XM PCR antenna (the small aftermarket kind). It will be mounted on the center of the dash right below the wind shield with the wires going through a hole in the dash down to the PC....

I can post a picture (now, not done) or later (done).....
