Mini Fiberglass Tutorial on TLC's Rides.

There was a new episode of TLC's Rides featuring 702 Motoring out of Vegas. They had a nice segment on a guy doing custom fiberglass door panels. It did a pretty good job of showing all the steps in fiberglass work (mdf frame, fleece stretching, bondo and sanding). Just thought I would bring it to your attention as it would be a good thing to watch if you are interested in doing fiberglass work.

I'd love a copy of that too. I don't get TLC.

Thanks,

I saw it last night as well, it was some really good information I can use, since I will be fiberglassing a box for my subs.

i saw the show too. I dont think they showed the actual process of laying the fiberglass sheets. Overall it was cool to see the SOME of the actual process. HE put alot of work into that door panel.

I have been doing fiberglassing for awhile. I think the guy at 702 used a different method and skipped the laying of the fiberglass chop mat and used fiberglass Kitty Hair directly on top of the resined fleece. He then he went with normal "bondo" body filler on top once it setup.

Yeah he didn't even use mat.

He did:
Wood frame
Felt
Resin/Hardener
Kitty Hair (to fill in the big spots)
Some other finer stuff (to fill in the small areas)
Sand
Bondo
Sand/File
Bondo
Sand/File

I wonder how much that stuff costs. It would be easier for some of the stuff I'm looking at doing to my other project.
