Altimat, did you hot glue the screen after you bondoed everything, of before? I'm asking 'cause I see you didn't bondo the screen, but just the 2 small holes.

Where exactly did you mount the IR receiver from the remote?
I don't have room in my dash for that button board, and I don't know where to put the IR receiver...can you give me more details on that please!

Yes inside radiuses are the worst to finish, so you want the screen bezel to fit the recess perfectly and everything smooth first. Then epoxy it in. Finally, add the inside radius with filler or epoxy. I use the round end of a cable tie to spread the smooth radius.

The IR receiver can go anywhere you are able to drill a small hole. Bevel it on both sides, and grind the plastic thinner in the area where the eye goes to get it as flush as possible.

hey altimat, first of all i admire your work and I have been following your posts on the forum unregistered for quite a while now untill i seen this. This has got to be the best monitor install on the forum yet to date. i myself just bought a 2005 altima 2.5S and it has the extra glove compartment above the radio. I just was wondering that when i buy my liliput monitor should i buy an extra empty bezel to place it in like the altimas that come with navigation or is it possible to just modify the one i already have? if so what could you advise me in hooking up my first carpc. thanks for everything and two thumbs up for your work and dedication to the forums.

Thanks! I would definitely try to modify the one you have first. In the Z the non-nav compartment works better for installing aftermarket screens.

I don't see a point in buying extra bezels for the screens or extra dash parts for the car. If you ever need an original unmodified part buy it at that time. Use what you have for now.

Well, I guess there's no point if you don't mind driving around with a hole in your dash for weeks. Going on months for me.

I just glued my Xenarc bezel in behind the factory screen opening on my Titan and it was a little too short and too wide. I cut the opening taller, fit the Xenarc bezel, glued it and just tapered the sides a bit more to decrease the width with epoxy filler. Step one will be to measure that opening and see what you need to do to make it match the 7" LCD. Feel free to PM for more help.

I've looked at doing this in my 05' Altima, but really the navigation console is quite different and wouldnt really do much to help the situation....

Hey Altima. I just noticed this thread and by looking at the reflection in the lcd screen, it looks like you did yourself some damage on your hand. What happened?

The epoxy is PowerPoxy and at first glance I wondered what I did to my hand too, but then I realized it was my shoulder.
