Being an ex-RS employee i would agree with that statement IF you added "NOW" to it...
in the early 90's it was another story.. there was at least 1 real tech in each store... now you'd be lucky if there was one in the stores district..
don't get me wrong I'm not sticking up for good ol' tandy corp or any of their chains (RadioShack, Circuit city.. etc..) but the quality of the employees just went down the crapper these last few years...

(btw incase you were curious, I pre-dated the POS terminals in the RS stores i was working in (asst. mgr/mgr))

Custom laser cutting for plastics. Also carries robotics/electronics stuff, but that's secondary for fabrication.

Front Panel Express
Custom aluminum front panel milling. They also do things like label etching.

D.C. Waterjet
Custom CNC waterjet cutting for all metals.

Titanium Joe
Cheap titanium, if you want to get schmancy.

eMachineShop
Expensive for one-offs, but if you absolutely have to get something machined, they can do everything.

I say sticky this for sure, some great stuff there. Most of the places listed I have ordered from numerous times. I stay away from Radio Shack unless I need something right now like simple diodes and what not.

My personal opinion is that Radio**** isn't worth going to. Most of the things there are marked up by 100 percent and if you do decide to go there, make sure its a grab and buy, because as mentioned above, the people who work there usually have no clue about anything.
