Weekend update!
Here are some more sexy pics....and then the new roadblocks ahead:
yes, paint still needs to be done, that will be the last thing before it goes in. And the Climate Control does 100% work, WOOT! Also I think I have figured out the security wire on the OEM HU....looks like it is another ground.
Here are the new roadblocks.
* The climate control buttons do not light up...probably because that 'illumination' comes off of the OEM HU harness....easy fix
* The ribbon cable off of the screen to the circuit board behind it is too short....need to start looking at digikey...
* There is a wicked gap between the top of the screen and the center vents....I will have top brainstorm to figure out how to get rid of it. Basically that comes from the OEM HU being beveled, and the screen being flat...I'm open to suggestions.
Enjoy the pron!

That looks very good. I wish I had the patience to re-do some of my dash fab.

Very nice job 98EXL!
I'm not sure what to tell you about the space between the vents and the top of the bezel. More bondo sanding and painting probably doesn't sound too attractive an idea.
It almost looks like there should be something on the left and right sides of the screen. Custom gages? Status LEDs? Rocket Launchers?

Hi,
If I may inquire, where did you get the extra bezel?

I know that the nav cars come with a slightly different dash piece (the part above the radio which contains the a/c vents) which contains a clock and temperature gauge.
Perhaps the dash component from a nav car would have a different fit around the radio?
I think this is a very impressive job. For my Accord, I took the chicken route and modified the cubby instead.

it's not that reflective, the flash on the camera is so bright, so it appears to be pretty reflective

Nice work man. Any updates?
I think I met you when I was at the Rockville, MD meet last March. I have the Satin Silver gen7 sedan with the TSX mirrors.
I'm working on a similar project right now and I might have a solution to your circuit board clearance issue if you haven't finished this up yet.

On my set up I removed the a/c controls from the circuit board and relocated it, then mounted the controls back in the stock location and ran wire from the controls to the circuit board.
Here, check this out. I have all the pics of the progress so far in this thread.

I only have pictures of the molding so far, but I might have pics of how the citcuit board was modded too.
