i have had the computer in the trunk of my 03 accord ex for the better part of a year now and have had no heat/vibration/battery related issues. it has ran rather flawlessly with the exception of me messing everything up on occasion. thinking i could run the computer and 2 12'' subs with the amp all off the stock battery being one of them. never being able to leave the damn thing alone is another. but vibration, heat and battery have not been. as far as weather goes the temp and humidity here in Miami could not be worse when it comes to running a computer outdoors and i havnt had any problems.... hope that answers your questions. now get to building!!!

It's been a long time since I've posted here, but I've made a 2nd attempt at shoe horning my Alpine IVA-W200 in my HVAC pod. It still doesn't fit and the HVAC controls are still wonky. I'm going to be attempting something similar to what you've done, but with an Alpine TME-M740BT so it can be integrated into my current system.

I had some of the same concerns as you guys since I live in Houston as well, but I have had my computer in my truck for over two years and had no issues what so ever. Mine is mounted in my center console, and the only thing that I did was to put an 120mm fan to help push the hot air out. Even before I decided to put the fan in I never had any issues, so just do it. You know you want to!
