You've placed it in a vertical postion, making it harder to tell. Looks really interesting though, what's that made of? I'd really like to mold my screen in dash too, and I will eventually, that being the cause for not showing off my project. For now I have the screen as it is, mounted on the dash...doesn't look that nice...

The tin is actually square, picture angle makes it look vertical. It's basically a plaster cast of the modelling clay. Well hopefully it will be, haven't taken it off yet will do that tomorrow evening.
Why did you take your tutorial down?

Well, I wasn't sure if it would be helpfull or not. I asked Frodo, but he seems to be in one of those Britney Spears moments again...
Well, to tell you the truth, I like the headrests a lot (they really look like actual headrests, the people that saw them coudn't tell the difference...), keeping in mind of course this is my very first attemp at something like this...I've never worked with foam before, and nevr with a sewing machine too...I'm really pleased with the way they turned out.
I took it down, as I thought two similar threads would not be a good ideea, from the mods point of view, although that one contained much more info than this one, and the pics were better and more suggestive. Me personally, I woud've found something like this helpfull when I started the project...
When do you think the bezel will be ready?

?
I think you should have left it and have let them make it a sticky. This one will fall by the wayside, which would be a shame, because I think what you have done is very good. And yes would help those who don't have headrest already or the bottle to hack their existing ones.

Well, I will be taking the clay model out of the mould tomorrow evening. Then if it comes out OK, will start the fibreglassing mon/tue couple of layers, then use the filler and sand down. Couple of weeks probably. Then I need to work out how to do the IR hole and some buttons.

Two weeks!!! Long time, but it should look really good after all this time. What about the headrest monitor, when will that be finally finished, or when will both headrests be finished. You're really lucky you have a leather interiour...headrests monitors really don't go with fabric material...(unfortunatlly).

Don't really spend a lot of time in one go at it. No chance this wednesday or Friday and Mondays are usually out.
The other headrest will be done when I buy another monitor. Need to sell some stuff on EBAY first though to build up the kitty.

Cris, you could go a bit inventive and make unusual headrests. think outside the envelope buddy. Headrests dont have to be big lumps of foam with fabric on.

What would you suggest then...? (no drawings required)
Oh, I've also looked outside of the envelope, but there was nothing there...
What do you think about this?
I mounted them in the car.
