Water-Proofing a box

I made a box for the bed of my pickup. It's holding tools and the such but is also due to hold some waterproof speakers (for beach fun).

I made it out of pressure treated 2x4s and pressure treated 1/2-inch plywood.

Can someone suggest how to treat the wood before painting it to further waterproof it? Is there a specific kind of paint to use to help ensure longevity?

I've had some success using a silicon based caulk aorund the edges of the box, in my brother's speaker boxes.

However yours are going to be continually exposed to the rain. Maybe a sheetmetal wrapping around the top of the box?

Don't forget to include drainage holes in case it rains so hard your truck fills up!

My Fiberglassing skills are lacking... I'm learning them on a side project (a center consol for my truck) but I want this box to look nice. I think I'm going to end up painting and sanding my brains out. It's got 3 layers of primer on it. I'm going to use some wood-fill and then one more coat of primer then paint it up real nice.
