1990 VW Corrado Monitor Install - LCD bezel flush mounted in dash surround
Well here is my first attempt at a Monitor install. I knocked this out in 8 hours. It still needs some minor work. There is a slight blemish on the bottom right part of the bezel where some junk got caught in the paint. I'll end up redoing it in the future, but I am happy with it for now.
The screen is the dynamix 706 (confirmed same as linitx). I filled over the little ridges and made the bottom flat. I also modified the hole in the rear of the case to allow the cables to go straight out the back instead of the bottom.
What do you think?

UPDATE: Mostly finished...

Looks good sivart, I like the way you moved the AC controls down where the ashtray was.

Good job man. Is there an amp involved or you had to relocate the HU? If you did relocate it, will be easy to use?
Again, well done!!!

The HU is gone. For now, I will have 2 amps in the back. A 4-channel and a mono amp for the sub. Eventually a center channel will be added and perhaps another 2-channel for the dash speakers or rear speakers depending on what happens. Currently my Corrado has 3 sets of speakers and the sub. 2 -4" dash speakers, 2 - 5.25" components in the doors, and 2- 4x6" plate speakers in the back. I will be wiring up the dash and rear speakers off the same amp output as the combined peak wattage of the 2 sets is actually less than the components. No 4.1 or 5.1 until I can seperate the front dash and rear channels with that other amp.
Heater controls were not easy as the dash tapers downward at that point which required me to sand down the HVAC panel insert slightly to get it to fit. It also required me to hack the mount from its higher position and epoxy it into the lower position while still alowing the front HVAC bezel to be removed/reinstalled. I still am not even sure if the cable control unit will clear, as there is a massive knee bar that runs the width of the car only a few inches behind the new HVAC control position.

Yeah, my plans were to sell it with my XM tuner module that I have. If interested, make me an offer. It is the alpine CDA-7897. I was going to put it on ebay once I removed it from the car, but if you are interested I could easily sell it now.

I just cut it out of its original position, and epoxied it into the lower position. The actual cable controls screw into that piece from the front. There is a removable bezel that clips into the front piece to cover the screws/mounting. In that picture it is clipped in.

Very nice sivart321. I have a question though, i own 1990 Mitsubitshi Galant. The radio compartment is too low, so i need to remove the AC control unit lower, so it will fit to where the radio compartment was.
Could you please explain the step your taking with your project? If possible with more photo. Thanks very much
