E46 7" Xenarc Bezel Germanfreaks
************************************************** *****
Hi E46 fanatics
this is my solution epoxied together out of original BMW parts. Prushed with Sata Jet and 2K Glasurit Ralley-black in rough black like original BMW plastic surface. I also made some exact copies in a kautschuk form. Frames are made out of glass fiber epoxy and also carbon fiber round the "mounting ears". call me at kenischi@gmx.de, if you need some details
Sorry dudes, my pictures were offline, more or less uploaded them again on a more secure webspace
The frontend is still C.E.S ( http://www.ecarpc.de/)

I would be interested in further detail. Do you probably have a step by step guide of your method?

The E46 Bezel copy is now fabricated of professional epoxyd material with glass fiber inlet and carbon fiber rovings round the mounting ears and the thin middle part.
Milka says hello smile
Here the picture of the raw model:

Really great work Janus. I'm interested to know how you handled relocating the PCB in your pictures - it looks like you just used hot glue? Did you have to take off the long LED light so the PCB will sit flush against the back of the screen? Have you had any trouble with the PCB falling out of place?
Also, it looks like the back case of the screen can't be attached in this configuration - I was worried about it being right next to the AC vents and possible condensation dripping on to the exposed circuit boards. Did you cover the back of the screen/PCB with anything to protect it?

Hi Hark
Thx for your questions and first in want to say, all works perfectly! Relocations of the PCB was first time made with hot glue, pictures you see are from my prototype just to give you a short impression of the back view. Hot glue is sure not the best solution. Vibration can cause problems. Meanwhile i made some plastic distance clip holders which do this job .The platines have enough distance and work correctly. Next the mounting holders (metric m3) are meanwhile of metal and m3 metal inox screws. With 4 super-thin rubber pads between touch and bezel a good solution against displacement. The original Xenarc plastic mounting holders are not really recommendable. LED is still inside, just off place to get the original monitor configuration back.PCB never had any problems of falling out or displacement.
Attachment points for the the monitor are not neccesary, the bezel is universal for all xenarcs and mm400. I remember that also the original Xenarc attachment points are not able to center the monitor absolutely in middle position. In every direction there´s a little gap. You get detailed information about centering in my mounting instruction information! With a trick it can be easy centered
Of cause the back of the monitor is protected with a final foil. The whole panel is so flat, that you don´t get problems with any AC car signals.
For further information call me at kenischi@gmx.de
