Nice work, I'd say I'm on version 2 (soon to be 3) of my bezel creation. I'm also getting the cracking like everyone else and I will probably use these tips when I get to re-working the screen.

I'd like to add one thing I've learned:

PATIENTS!!!!, lots and LOTS of patients (and be prepared to sand for long periods of time)... My biggest problem with all of my creations was that I got too excited to see the finished product and rushed it along (when I say rush I mean like work on it for 7 or 8 hours instead of giving it the 15 or 20 it deserved), which in turn made the finished product look, well, not so finished...

@ Antimatter:
Awesome! Very nice 3rd (and by the looks of it) final attempt!

@ Intella works. I'm in the same boat... I've spent hours and hours on my bezel, only to rush at the wrong part and end up with less-than-perfect results... cracking, wavy lines, etc... I'm also on my third attempt at a fiberglass box to house my pc and amp... Needless to say, patience is key but practice makes perfect!

Thanks for the nice comments.

I agree with you completely about the patients. Expect to take roughly 40 hours for fabrication preperation and paint.

i wish i would have taken the time to do it right the first time. But there is always the learning curve. This is the first time i did anything this extensive. Aling the way i perfected the fabrication and paint techniques.

Paint is a beast in itself. Your fabrication could be the bomb but with a crappy paint job you could make it look like crap.

Awesome Job

That is probably one of the best in-dash mod's i've seen yet for a cat.

I just recently purchased a 99 cougar, and I'm looking to do something pretty similar to you. Where did that other dash console come from (in the last pic of the 2 side-by-side)?

Also would you mind sharing which paint you used? did you paint the whole part or just around your mods?

Do you have any finished/installed photos? I'd love to see them.

Thanks bud, Sorry for the late reply. I ended up painting the whole dash. I have the paint codes of the exact color if you need them. I got the extra part off ebay.

Cheers
