You could also look on ebay for a cheap or fried amp. Gut it and use that.

I'd be a little leery of some of those online CNC-milling places... I went for a quote once and for a small thing, no bigger than your thumb, which was basically just a cylinder with a hole in it, they wanted $110.

I would also recommend just buying a cheap amp on ebay as OoNikFraleyoO said. As a bonus, you might even be able to use some of the RCA and power connectors from the amp, if they are mounted to the case... in fact I think I like that idea so much I may have to consider doing it myself!

I don't know how much they charge, but this place sells extruded aluminum enclosures, like many amps come in http://www.extrutech.com/products/enclosures.html

I was looking for another project, but they were all to big for me.

Unfortunately, it looks like they have a 10 piece minimum, but a free sample is available they say.

Hmmmm, SAMPLES.

i hit up and searched for extruded aluminum enclosures, and there were a lot of other companies, and some of them might be better suited.

sorry, didn't mean to imply that you hadn't searched. I was looking around for my own thing, and there are quite a few different types of aluminum enclosures (folded, extruded, cast etc.) I was just suggesting you maybe check out some of the different specific types, if you haven't already. If you search for 'aluminum enclosure' you have to go through quite a few hits to find a producer of extruded enclosures, for example.

Anyway, I decided to go with a plastic one for my project, but I haven't made a final decision yet, so please let us know if you find anything good.
