89 mustang Convertible In The Works

Well here she is... building a glass inclosure for a 1989 mustang gt vert. have 2 kicker comp vr 10's both in a 3 cu ft box slot vented and with the trim makes it into a 4th order band pass through the ford oval in the middle. Will have the ford logal in polished backlit aluminum floating in the oval. just need to glass the shell and finish with kitty hair and rage gold. more pictures to come.. also have the battery back there as well. man this is a lot of work.

cover it in carbon fiber

cuts down on the sanding and looks great.

That looks hot.

Comming along nicely

Got a few questions if you have the time:

How many hours has it taken you to get the boot / trunk this far???

How many layers of glass did you use ???

Not sure on the time factor and do not want to know... lots..... as for the layers the spare tire well enclosure has thick fleece and 2 layers of heavy mat, same with the pods that hold the speakers. It is thick 3/8 to 7/16 and super strong with no flex. Not sure on the weight of the fiberglass mat. The trim has the thick fleece and one layer of fiber glass cloth (lays on better). also has some mat in areas that needed a bit more strength and thickness. I think i have used 3 gallons of resin so far. Moving on to the custom trim for the touch screen. Will have the screen, volume controls with hot media keys and 2 usb ports from a dell keyboard(sk8135). heater controls as well. Also making a custom guage pillar to hold a 5 inch autometer tach and 2 other guages and tweeter pods. NEED MORE TIME! It should look very clean
