I spent a good 10 hours on mounting the TS, LCD, all the controller boards, then wiring it. Also got the flash drive adapter mounted. It was like doing this whole project over again because I had to move everything, drill more holes, figure out what will/won't fit. But its done. Now starts my favorite part. SOFTWARE!!! Ill keep ya updated on that. Embedded OS, welcome to your new home:
Whats your hibernate resume speed with the flash drive?

Im actually still working on getting the flash drive to work. As of yet I could not get her to boot. Ive got some more time this week im going to try a different card and config. The OS image itself is perfect and runs hella fast on a normal harddrive. I don't plan on hibernation, I just do cold boots.

It WORKS! I figured out the problem. My cheapie CF disk got nuked in my initial attempts of an embedded install. Anyway I got good in DOS bought the sandisk and BAM! first try got my XPE image up under flash. EWF running good. This is hella fast and stable. Thanks to Sfiorito for the helpful info. So yes car PC 1 is back together and better than ever. Im running freeway with the roadfuse skin now. I also have IG3 and all the maps on my solid state drive. Works PERFECT! Damn im happy. Should have the stang back together by tomorrow.
Im wondering with the EWF running can I just to a hard shutdown now? I mean nothing gets written to disk so i don't see why not. . .

I could share my ISO i guess but its optimized for a via m10000, 7" touch, and MS USB GPS. Unless you have this exact hardware the image won't boot that fast.

I've got the m10000, 7TS and a bu-353 gps. I think there would be alot of people with _very_ similar setups to what you are using. Even if they have to add a driver or two for more peripherals, I think that it would still be a great base that alot of people would benefit from. It may not quite be a 12 second cold boot, but I bet it would be a hell of a lot better than what alot of people are getting at the moment

The part i sell is the white .063" aluminum chassis + lid and harddrive mount. You will need to drill & tap your own holes where you want to add hardware. The chassis I sell is a starting point to the fabrication. Its by no means a turnkey solution for all your hardware, rather a solid chassis to mount all your hardware as necessary for your build. If you are ok using a drill and basic hand tools you will be fine. Either way aluminum is pretty easy to work with. I use 6/32 machine screws on my entire chassis so I only had to buy one tap.

Read the whole thread and look at the pictures. There must be over 20 pics of the chassis in this thread, some pics of the actual production model and various autocad pics of the unit that have dimensions. Also look at sonic v8's thread, he purchased a chassis from me and has pictures of his build. Link is also in this thread. This chassis is designed to bolt up to OEM aftermarket trim kits like the metra series.
