Well everything is running good so far. I switched back to RoadRunner for the frontend. I am going to get some pics of this amazingly clear xenarc running very soon. The gamma control works so awesome at night. I like to dim the gauges and the screen at night. Less distraction. I am also at the final stages for the design of my OEM fit button arrary that im replacing some dead buttons with. I also implemented the hard off power scheme. I kill ignition relay and power just gets cut. The m2ATX is set to act in dumb mode. Its nice that every component in the setup shuts off instant. Very OEM approach. I get away with this due to the EWF operating system. The drive never gets written to so it will never get corrupt. Even if you just kill the power. The cold boot to start back up is at 25 secongs into RR. Im lovin it right now. The xenarc was a really good upgrade that im glad i spent the money to do.

Very nice work. I'm just getting ready to start my project, and I'll probably get one of your cases. Just a question, though, is there room inside for a PCI card? 5-1/8” x 7/8” x 5-3/8” are the dimensions of the card. Thanks a bunch!

Excellent leading edge work. Your system looks OEM. Wish I had a double-din. Am I mistaken thinking without that bezel an 8" screen might fit? Hard to tell from the pictures.

Any thoughts on having the flash easily accessible so you can do updates from your desktop ?

On this semi-embedded OS, what happens if you plug in a new USB device the system has never used before. I guess what I am asking is how is the plug-and-play affected with the write filtering ?

I'm going to put it into a 92 Toyota Celica AllTrac Turbo. Thanks, I'm finalizing hardware now, and will order one when that's done.

Thank you for the compliments! I don't think the 8" screen will work. The flash module is easily removable if I pull the PC. It only takes 15 minutes and 10 screws to pull the whole unit out.

The OS is a true embedded setup. Im not sure what you mean by semi-embedded. It will still detect USB devices like flash drives, keyboards, input devices, etc. If I want to make changes to the volume I can turn off the EWF (enhanced write filter) and commit all changes ive made to the OS by command prompting:

ewfmgr -commitanddisable -live

When I am happy with what I did then I run:

ewfmgr -enable

and it turns the write filter back on next boot.

The USB plug and Play has nothing to to with EWF. This is an OS module than can be removed but I kept it intact in my OS image.

The white aluminum chassis part of my build including the top plate. It is for Double Din and is not ford specific. Any after market trim kit for Double Din can use this chassis. I will try to post up a pic later on tonight of the unit that im making right now for deepsky.

Oh man that is NICE. So what would you charge to install an LCD if I brought you one? There is no chance I have the means to take one apart and put it in there nice as you did.

Deepsky i shipped your chassis out. Emailed you the tracking #.

I could make the chassis, disassemble and mount the screen into a trim kit and assemble the whole shot, ready for bolt in for $150 (you provide the 7" screen)

U said that u have limited writing on the system disk because too much writing from the OS will nuke the flash card... what about suspension? u have 512Mb RAM.. when u suspend your system XP will wrtite at least 400MB of stuff on your disk, isn't it?

i have exactly your hardware... can u share the iso so i can try it? I think my license will go with this one aswell... mine too is an XP pro...
