LCD Central Dash Accord 96

I've got a 7" widescreen lilli touchscreen and I'm getting a custom done computer though a friend. I've been trying to plan this out for quite some time now. The problem I want the monitor right where it's hardest to install into the dash. I apologize for the bright nasty green of this but I'm repainting it midnight black soon.<br>

Okay well I've done a little work so far as much as cutting and sanding but I've realized I still don't like the placement of the screen. The accords center dash doesn't extend high enough to where I want it to be and personally I've been thinking about going out and finding a nsx dash trim kit and custom installing it into the accord. Not too much of a difference I've done my work on it. Of course in order to accomplish this I have to cut off the guage dash trim to just where my dashboard is and I could bondo the rest off by chance.

Sorry about this picture being so big I just quickly pulled it off of a website

Of course it's a lot of work but I have all summer to finish this before I start working on my engine mods. Do you think I would be better off if I just remade my own center dash piece to the way I want it so I can reroute my center ac vents to the side of the monitor or something.

I will be turning my glove compartment into a shelf type thing with a interior box lining with computer hok ups and I'm goign to mold the computers shape so it just simple slides in and I can take it out whenever I wish too along with a latch door that keeps it from sliding during motion.

Also you should probably know that I prefer to use switches instead of buttons just simply because of the way they look. Some buttons are decent in appearance.

The car is an older car so I plan on replacing almost everything on the interior and I could choose the material for the dash.

I have an amplifier that I will be making a custom rear seat to cover it also allowing vents front the front of the seat through a special material that breathes very easily.

There has not been a in depth plan for this yet simply because I don't know if there would be an easy way to install the monitor where the two dash pieces touch(where the ac control and the emergency light button). If anyone has an idea on what I could do. It would be great. I have plenty of fiberglass bondo and matting and everything. My car is in the shop right now because a friend of mine rear ended me at a stop sign just after he got his license so sadly I won't get this back until after spring break which is when I was going to do all of this. Somehow he did almost 4k of damage to the thing and they are replacing my entire back end.

This is where I was going to put the screen but it was rather hard to see for the driver and passenger, again excuse the nasty green.

I'm willing to do just about any custom work to get this done. So if you think you can help me out, feel free to. And if you need any other information just ask and I'm sure I can get it to you.

your stick shift is too close to the dash to have a good looking slanted console...i've looked at this for about 10 minutes and still havent come up with any better place for it then where you had planned

IMHO, if u can relocate the two buttons above the radio din, u can place there a 8" without any problem... I really like this position, because it's not too far from your hand when u are driving and everybody can look at it quite well...
If u have glowing problems, u can consider to model your dash trim a bit deeper...

i concur with frigor. you dont have to touch the air vents. you can contain your bondo to the bottom section of the dash, since they seem to be two different plastic pieces. work on the slant just past the buttons and relocate the buttons.

I was just worried about getting it so the people in the back can see but I forgot I'm replacing everything in the back anyways and probably I will only have people back there every so often which I can get some headrest monitors just as easily. Thanks guys. I've already relocated those buttons to the top trim kit since two of those buttons I didn't need so I put the other right there.
