Is the bowtie part of the bumper metal? Maybe a magnetic backed emblem would be good. If you had a strong enough magnet to keep it on at high speeds, that would rock! It would make changing them real easy too...

The stock plastic bowtie should come out easily. Mine has a wing nut on the back of it, once removed you can pull the whole thing out.. I would agree with scott_fx, make a mold and then make your own custom emblem.

tj!2k4, LED Bowtie = AWESOME! hehe But, not my thing....

Red GTi VR6, Dallas MP3car Meet? Oh that sounds very cool... I'll try to make it. This Sunday? (June 4th 2006) Right?

Furevo, Very cool artwork But I do not want to touch the original bowtie. I have no issue with making new ones and screwing anything else up, but I do not want to mess up the original so I can always go back easily if I wanted to...

Puffanug, That would be cool actually. But the actual grill isnt metal. Its all plastic. That silver strip the bowtie lays into is plastic.

stealinfool, Yes the original comes out very easy with no problems... If I can do what scott_fx said easily then that is definitly the way to go.

Hum... what about attaching a magnet cut like the bowtie, then have a metal backing on the bowtie emblems? That would be the best way to install/remove different ones, and should leave it stock enough to go back to original if needed...

Or should I just get off the whole magnet idea? Damn, my mom shoulda never bought me a magnet set as a kid... LOL

What about a psuedo-emblem that hid a front mounted cam for the carputer? That would be slick...

Whatever route you go, good luck.
