Fiberglass ABS

I know this topics been beat to death. I have an ABS piece and would like to modify it with fiberglass. I know theres no strait easy way of making the FG stick.

However, what if I were to spray down the plastic with adhesion promoter first, then stick the fiberglass too it. Hell it makes paint stick why not FG.

I thought doing a rough sanding of the ABS would allow it to stick...

Already done.
You only get a mechanical bond though. I think that adhesion promoter could give a nice chemical bond. The only problem I can forsee is the resin might just melt the promoter.

I am going to be doing my fiberglass to ABS fabrication this weekend. Doing a rough sand still does not allow enough bonding? Hum, I ownder if I will run into a similar issue...

Update I think it worked great.
I used it to remove the side moldings off my bumper. First I sanded everything with 60 then 320 to make it somewhat smooth. Then sprayed everything with the promotor. I have to say I can flex the bumper and the FG just flexes with it. ITs on there just like paint.
