? Or do like I did and mount it under the seat where the AC blows directly on it. The End.

It's a good one,but you either need to put the thermal sensor on something hot like a hard drive,or short the sensor out to get the fan to spin fast enough to move some air.

Just blow on it, like you do hot soup.

Phase-change cooling would probably be the best way.

the best way is to start with an efficent setup to begin with... a mobile processor will run alot cooler than say a p4...

all this talk of heating....it's 100+ degrees here today, meaning 150+ in the car, started right up without an issue, just like it has for close to 3 years now....and mines back behind a body panel with minimal air flow

This is almost like the "how should I mount my hard drive" question. For most people it's really a non-issue and any standard cooling setup will typically be fine.
In the 5+ years I've been building and using carputers I've never had any over-heating issues. Not even in LA summers. A decent place to keep the PC is in the trunk. It's usually cleaner than the cabin and natrually cooler. Depending on your setup (CPU, GPU, OC/UC, case size) you may not even need more than a CPU fan and a decent path for hot air to escape. My current setup has one 92mm fan blowing air in from the front/bottom of the case and another 92mm "blow hole" near the back of the case nearly on top of the CPU heat sink with speed pot (no actual fan on the HS, though). And really, even that may be a bit redundent for my senerio but I don't mind.
