that's not a tablet... it's just a screen... more info on this screen for anyone interested, can be found here
these screens are totally insane & blow away most everything else you'll find... I am btw sold out on these screens at the moment, but am working on sourcing them elseware...

this same screen is used in motion tablets with outdoor viewable screens, as well as some fujitsu's with the outdoor sunlight viewable screens as well...

Very nice work! I have the same car with the same color interior. I'm thinking a doing an install with a 7 or 8" screen in the bottom part of the dash leaving the top compartment. Do you think this method would work well for me?

I think so, I really showed 2 main things here, 1 is the method & technique of making this as an insert, & the other is the use of materials that are compatable with most modern dashboards.. bondo & fiberglass are not the right materials for this type of work, bondo is great for ridgid work & is designed for use on metal.... some guys use it with sucess on wood too, but it's not good for a plastic dash bezel... fiberglass is equaly incompatable really..
even if my insert method doesn't suit your aplication well, the materials & finishing techniques still apply really.....

Man if only you live in houston. How much do you usually charge for a custom bezel?

all depends on time & materials.... this bezel would be over $400 labor plus materials...

Nice
I'm newbie here but i've been reading post for my own honda element project. I'm hooked on making my own carputer. I just wish i have some examples from other element owners.
I love your stuff, work... everywhere i look i notice ur work and can't believe what you've done. Thanks so much for posting all the pic and the step by step work.
Currently I'm starting to purchase my parts (trying to keep the project under 1k). In the mean time i'm researching on what i can do to my car's benzel.

dk, how'd yours come out?
the abs sludge isn't really bad, but this is so much faster & much more foolproof...
