How to add optical out on XM Direct using XMPCR card
The diagram here shows you how the optical board is hooked up to an XMPCR. It also shows how it would be connected to an XMD. You can simply solder wires from the optical board to tin can.
Only drawback is that, these boards are very hard to find if you want to do this mod.
