Custom enclosure?

Not sure if this is the place to post this question, but I was wondering if anybody would know what enclosure would be good for my setup. I have a Intel DG4FC mobo and the DSATX 220 watt power supply. I am going to go with a single H.D., and 2 gigs of mem. Does anyone make an enclosure that this setup will fit into, or will I have to fabricate one?

Hey, I use the Serener GS-L05, it is nice, small footprint, and a whole lot of other good attributes.

Browse around there, there ought to be something that will be of interest.

Depending on space availible in your vehicle you could forego the enclosure. When I set my system up I attached my mobo/PSU/HDD etc to a 3'x3' piece with some custom and pre-made brackets of MDF or the like. This setuup was ideal for me when it came to heat disappation and vibration absorbtion.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. Space isn't an issue. (sorry, I should have stated that in my original post.) I am going to build a custom center console in my 03 Avalanche, integrated with custom switch panels and PC interface. Not sure if I am going to incorporate the touch screen into the console or the dash assembly, or maybe both. (Have the dash panel and center console one solid piece.) Still in the planning stages of the project, but it will be "one of a kind" when I am done. Will keep everyone posted.

Yes my setup was the result of pure trial and error. I finally was able to create a setup that worked. The roads here in Michigan are horrible and are a constant conglomeration of pot holes and patch work so I needed to find a way to distribute all the violent vibrations evenly without having the computer go into a seizure. So far this setup has proven successfull. Feel free to pick my brain if you have any further questions.

I live in West Virginia, so I know exactly what you mean about bad roads. The State of West Virginia believes that a good road is a cow path. I do alot of off-roading so I know that I am going to have to do some sort of vibration suppression with my system. Thanks for offering some help.... I'll need it.

I just recalled someone installing a computer in a off road vehicle. They used some sort of "water bed" in between the motherboard and or enclosure and the vehicle. It is vague right now but I do beleive it did work as a impact cushion. From experience I have learned that what plagues a car PC setup is the hardware being installed was NEVER meant for a mobile platform. So with that said, when planning your build take into consideration anything that may move, even the slightest, while in transit (on road or up a moutain side) and think of ways to counter it without adverse effects to the hardware. Trust me I am not to proud to say that I have had to fall back on my coat hangar craftsmanship and create a clean and custom hold down bracket for a hard drive.
