Hello I have a compaq presario 1500c laptop. The LCD inside is a Torisan TFT TM121SV-02L01B. I would like to get the controller that plugs into the back of the LCD to connect to the laptop or make it have a VGA connector on the other end if you could anyone help?

depends on the interface
if u have a lvds interface on your lcd( have a look on the lcd specs) then u can easy extend the wires, but if it's ttl signal(x bit color signals were x= 4,6,8 bits) then extending is much more difficult..may be imposible.
Another method to figure it out wich interface are u using is if u have twisted wires..then most of are lvds...if it is a flexible ribbon...then it's ttl

Apple iBook LCD
Does anyone have an idea about using an apple ibook LCD? I want to connect it to a mac mini installed in my scion Xb. The mac mini has a s-video out. so my questions is, can I convert the wiring from the ibook LCD to a S-video IN without using anything else other than the S-video OUT on the mac mini? thanks

Not easy at all IMHO:
Option 1: Give up
Option 2: Post in the LCD forum ;-)

you need a controller board with a composite input or a vga board & then a composite-vga converter...
probably cheaper to by another whole monitor, 10.4's can be had for like $60 on ebay now adays if you want cheap...

Only half right, noob.
True, you can easily extend LVDS. Flase is the fact that twisted wires indicate LVDS, and that a flat ribbon indicates a TTL panel.
The length of the cable will determine if twisted pairs are needed. Plus, if you look ever so closely at a flat LVDS ribbon cable, you will see that the clock and data pairs are actually twisted.
EDIT: WTF?? I must be out of it. I just replied to a year old post. Damn I need sleep.

This subject has been covered waaaaaay to many times here already. Please use the search function. And, FYI it will cost more $$ and take more time than it is worth to try and convert a laptop LCD into a PC ready monitor if you don't have a clue.

I'm currently thinking about doing the same thing to my 300. And i have no idea where to start. If someone (preferably the topic creator) can give me a few pointers i would appreciate it. i don't want to start working on it and mess something up. Especially since i just got the car a few weeks ago.
