Also to note...

I am wondering why there are 2 +12v inputs to the XMD1000. After making the mistake of assuming both were connected on the radios circuit board, I took the circuit board out and they are connected to a missing connector labeled "Signal". My mouse connector I used was missing one of the pins (forgot if it was 6 or 7), so I soldered the 2 +12v circuits together at the "Signal" connector. After that I was up and running.

I am thinking one is on constant, and the other would be on at ignition on/ Power on.

If anyone knows the nitty gritty on the 2 +12 volt circuits, please enlighten.

I did this as well, and it works, the unit powers up, but i get almost no audio. if i hook it up to my house stereo, and crank it all the way up i can barely hear it, and its scratchy. do i need to just find an 8-pin mini-din and put power to it that way?

please help!

How did you wire up the power? Which pins on DIN connector? What source of +12V are you using? If you have a digital Volt meter check to make sure the 2 pins are getting a solid +12Volts.

I need to find the correct connector to fit into this radio! If you find it let me know.

I didnt use the pins on the DIN connector. I used the solder points on the board. to the right of the RCA's. should i move to the pins on the DIN connection?

XM Doubt

Does anyone know the maximum power that an XMD1000 can receive? I mean, if I use an antenna different from the ones for car?
I need to use a cable of 7 ft and I´m intending to use an antenna which has about 25dB of gain.
Could someone help me? What type of cable shall I use? I´m intending to have that on my Clarion MAX675VDII and I need an XMD1000 receiver and also an XMDCLA100 Smart Digital Adapter.

Thanks for all.

For some reason i can't get any data from my XM Direct (xmd1000) box. I even tested the cable and everything is fine. I can't get any data reply out of my box. Maybe a bad serial port?
Any suggestions?

Did you make sure it didnt install as a serial mouse? Go to device managaer and if you see serial mouse under mouse, then disable it and restart.

When I do that, it never shows back up or gets recognized. Or it comes up as a serial mouse on the wrong com port.

ok, I was using the serial port monitor and I got a reply from the box. But it was the same thing that was sent. Is that a good sign?

I made a cable that I used with my carputer, from xm to the com port (serial port1) on my carputer. I sold all my stuff and have this left over.

It's for sale and will save you time and frustration.
