I think this poll is inappropriately titled, it should have been "Which are the most popular front-ends"
Just because one fe is more popular doesn't make it better than any others.

It's titled: Which front ends do you think are the best. The poll is strictly a matter of opinion. Do I think the opinions of everyone that has voted are worthless? Yes. Do the people that keep asking the question? Apparently not.

The opinions represented here wouldn't be "worthless" if it this thread was appropriately titled.

No, it's not. That's a sub-title or poll title that noone pays attention to.

Yes, that is the poll question. That is the question you are answering when you pick one of the options. The thread title represents what so many noobs ask. No one asks which is more popular. Read my original post as it explains the reason for the thread title:

Which is the best front end? Probably one of the top two questions asked here.

Hey guys, Newbie McNewbster here
Why stop at front ends?
I think one of you super duper master moderator folk should create a whole "What's the best......?" POLL Section and cram it at the top of the Faq Emporium!!!
What's the best Front End? What's the best double din touchscreen? Whats the best mobile mobo/CPU? What's the best PSU? What's the best gps receiver/soft? So forth and so on!!
I guess it could be a little hard to keep it all organized cuz I suppose there's a few sub-categories to the question ... what's the very BEST (spec-wise), what's the most popular, whats the best for the price, etc. But it would be a push in the right direction.
Now yes I am a newbie ... and yes I'm prepared for a newb bashing since I'm sure some of you medalists in the newb bashing olympics will let me know I should just search for this info ... and I am (this only my 3rd post ... all I've been doing is searching) But doing this would hopefully eliminate a good portion of our dumbass nOObie bOObie questions.
Whad'ya think?

The problem is...(and notice, I'm a relative newbie myself) that if you don't search, you'll just take other's opinons instead of forming your own...and then, the forum becomes a collection of a few people's opinions instead of many. I enjoy using the forums because I am exposed to a wide variety of opinon that can help me make a good decision...but I'd still like it to be my decision.

Good point! By no means am I telling people not to search. No no no no! I just think it would give people a good place to start as well as let people know what to search for.

That's EXACTLY what I'm saying. A dedicated POLL section. A poll is a VERY wide variety of opinion cuz everyone gets to vote and its all sumarized in a neat and quick chart. and I think everyone should post after they vote telling us why they think the particular product they voted for is the best. Then ... after taking into consideration everyone else's opinion ... make your own decision.
Like this poll for instance! I didn't even know what a front end was a month ago. and from searching the forums for the past few weeks, I would've thought Frodoplayer was the most popular (it seemed to be the most talked about in the forums from my perspective) but then I saw this poll and decided to check out road runner. Now that doesn't mean I'm not gonna give Frodoplayer a chance. I think what I'm actually gonna do now is try roadrunner for a while, then check out frodoplayer, then centrafuse and keep going down the list in that order, filter out the ones I don't like, and keep testing'em out until I find one that best suits my needs. and I suggest everyone do the same instead of just automatically assuming Road Runner is the best. and hell if I hadn't seen this poll I might of just gone with frodoplayer and never tried the others.
If we put a "guide to the poll section" at the top it would help with this. Tell people not to just go out and buy #1 in the polls but look into a few of the other options as well and BEFORE buying. Also tell people to post why they like their pick best after they vote. Among other things. Eh eh?

Still have to say CF...
I like Streetdeck, but it's heavy, CF is quicker.
I like RR, but CF is easier to install, it's more like a product, athough RR has another goal of course.
Frodoplayer is nice too, only develoment is in a coma...
Neocar Media Center (the best skin editor, the most flexible framework, fast), but development is at a standstill for the moment...
Only SD and CF have a real commercial solution with navigation afaik, and for me that's a requirement (for the business).
The other front-ends I haven't tested lately, so I can't comment on them (although I like hybrid's product and reddeath's program, just don't know where they stand lately...).
Just my opinion
