FAQ: Which is the best front end!?
Which is the best front end? Probably one of the top two questions asked here. Every time this question is asked at least 30 people will say: "Try them all, it is all a matter of opinion." This is great advice however people continue to ask which front end. So.....
Here is your chance to give your opinion. If you do choose to participate write your reasons in a post.
If anyone ever asks which front end is the best respond with a link to this thread and report the thread so it can be locked/deleted.
EDIT:
Oh ya, and you can select more than one option if you want.

My favorite is FrodoPlayer. The main reason is because the library is stored in database form so it is nice and fast for my massivly massive collection of songs. I also like how it is nice and simple yet does everything I require of it.

I voted for StreetDeck.
At the risk of getting pummelled by naysayers (Scouse), I like the interface and the way it handles queing music to a playlist.
The navigation with MapPoint has large icons and is clear and easy to read.
Frodoplayer rocks, too.

I'm kind of biased but I voted anyway.. haha (gotta support my work, and those who support it hehe). Now, if you're a noob and you're reading this, I hope I'm not convincing enough.. haha

Each front end is good in it's own way. Some just do more good things in the one package. RR and Frodoplayer are my votes.

Love RR.
- Free
- Open source
- Being actively developed by guino
- Tons of contributors and skinners
- Tons of good looking skins (and not just the same skin with different colors)
- Does everything I want AND MORE
- Allows tons of options for modding/skinning. I'm a heavy modder. Anything that's default is never good enough.
- Integrates well with external apps, scripts, remote controls, younameit.
- Did I say free?

RoadRunner - It can do so many things, updates every month with new stuff. The developer is very helpful and so are the other coders and skinners. An excellent community feeling to it as well. So many skins to choose from or make your own with the skin editor. They are all good, but I find RR to be so configurable with other programs.

I had to resist the urge to delete this poll. Then I saw xBrady created it. And DarquePervert voted without ****ting all over it. So I voted too.

I started with media car (me and the dinosaurs); have tried them all from time to time, but I must confess Road runner caught my eye from the time Guino picked it up and started pumping out 3 updates a week. Here we are almost three years later and the updates stiil come out at least monthly. Like B8bboi and zip said there is a massive and growing community for Road runner: users, skinners, contributors, and the developer. Think up a feature and several others will chime in and tell you how or program it for you to test.

Hey!!!
I gotta admit. I did fart while I posted. Does that count?
Actually, xBrady & I discussed this today when a n00b posted another "What's the best front end" thread. If the best front-end is going to be the one that's most popular, then we figured we'd find out once and for all which is most popular, although we already had a pretty good idea how the votes would fall.

If you had run it a year ago, I think FrodoPlayer would have been a lot closer to RR, but since the monkey seems to have taken a very long sabbatical it ain't.
