i dunno about "best" ... because to make that judgment, you would have tried the other products listed as well.
Probably the one you've had good experience with is a better choice ... but anyways, I voted. BU-303, though cheap, has worked well for me!

The one I saw/heard most about was the BU-353, so that's the one I've got.

Normally up to 7-8 satalites.

because there's a 10 item limit.

From my experience, it is not waterproof.. water-resistant perhaps, but after opening it up to repair a cut cable and seeing the components rusting away, definitely not waterPROOF.

My experience with this Earthmate has been good.. If you put it in a location where it has a decent view of the sky and can get a decent lock. Mine was mounted on the inside of my fiberglass trunk lid. Lack of magnet mount and the detachable USB cable limit your mounting options the vehicle's interior.

BU35x/SirfSTAR III.. definitely the best way to go at this point.. great chipset. Mine works inside the passenger compartment where the Earthmate failed.

Just got my Holux 213, works great. Plugged it in and got 11-12 satellites indoors almost immediately.
Even more impressive is I live tucked between two big banks, I can barely get FM/AM or TV reception in here. Lot's of shielding, lot's of noise.
The only issue I have is that at first, I had problems accessing it or if I did, I'd get read errors. It turns out that there must be something buggy with the PL2303 drivers for linux. I have another PL2303 serial converter on the machine too. It recognized both correctly, but it won't work with both plugged in.
Strange.

Well, I looked at all the available USB GPS units like the ones on the list of choices, but I didn't want the cable coming out the side of it. Impossible to mount it externally and have it look good (with no wires going around). Well, I have a 1967 mustang that I am installing all this in and I want it to look stock from the outside and from the inside (mostly). I was wondering how I could minimize the impact and the eep the good looks. I finally, after months of searching (actually a couple hours on the internet), I have found what I need. I have been planning on removing my antenna from the outside of the car and hiding it on the inside of the windshield, so I was going to have to fill in the hole it is currently mounted in, and repaint the whole panel as this would be a big hole to fill. Then when I found this GPS unit, I knew that I could just use the old antenna hole. I have not tested it yet, but I do have one here. It's waterproof, It will be sealed against the body in the old antenna hole with silicone and locked in place with a locking ring with the nut and the silicone will adhere pretty well. And it comes with a 15' cable to go through the firewall, under the carpet and under the passenger's seat. This is the best option I have found and know that a lot of you will be taking my idea, thus the long post before I tell you which one. The US Global Sat MR-350 WAAS Enabled Water Proof GPS Receiver. I am including two pictures, one of the unit, pretty cool and one of the design specs.
picture of it
<img src="http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c355/cheshireccat/MR-350_.jpg" border="0" alt="goto http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c355/cheshireccat/MR-350_.jpg">
and the specs:

Now that you have seen it, what do you think? pretty good option, just drill a hole and you run the cable and done...
