Wow, I feel bad for not getting it for you. I work 11 hours a day so I pretty much just get up, go to work, go home, sleep, get up, go to work. And somewhere in there put together my carputer. BUT....I get off work at 10pm tonight and I will try everything I can to get the driver software for you. I even have a half hour break at 7pm so I'll try then too. regardless of what I said in the past, take a look here tonight around midnight and it should be here. If I had read this 15 minutes ago, I'd have gotten it now but I just finished my break. And for a timezone reference, I'm in Mountain Standard time and it's 5:16 here right now.

Ask and you shall receive.
Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver (WDM)
Driver Date: 13/04/2006
Driver Version: 6.14.1.4160
And yes, I'm sure I'm getting sound from all my speakers as I pulled the audio cords from the amp to have each speaker cut out one by one.

Woohoo got this working on my SP13000 although it was a lil different steps...my big question is my Line In(blue) doesnt have anyout put only the lineout/mic which equates to front/center/lfe. Granted i can use my front and rear as the same but it would be nice...
Edit. Found the Magic5.1 option in Vinyl, All systems are go.

hey thanks alot man. i know how the crazy schedule can be, i just today got a chance to mess around with stuff again. fall semester is over and i am determined to get this thing working properly. this will help out a bunch. appreciate it.
im hoping its not just something that wont function correctly on the MII boards. it seems like ive tried everything. do you also have subs hooked up?

another day of working on this, with no results.
wish i would havbe gotten a regular ole' m10000. i think the "m" at the end of the south bridge model number on the mII10000 is what is causing all my problems. vt8235 for m10k and vt8235m for mII10k.
i swear to god i could draw exact replicas of every individual window under sounds & audio devices. this is haunting my brain.
ugh. i will be sure to post up my solution if i ever figure this out.

Where in the instructions are you having the trouble? And what exactly is different in the sound options? I figure once you have the newest drivers and change the sound configuration, it should be fine. Show me some screenshots and I can help you out.

Does this config also work on the VIA MII12000 as well as the MII10k?
I would like to wire the motherboard to 3 amps. One for the front speakers, one for the rear speakers and one for the sub. If I set the the motherboard to be a 5.1 setup, would I get any output from the rear and centre/sub channels when using winamp (or any other audio program)? Because I don't really want to use it as a 5.1 channel set-up (cinema style), just want to be able to use the faders to control my amps.

thats what im having problems with right now, on a mII10k board.
mahe, i have fiddled with this things for many many hours. i have tried your directions to the T. its just a driver issue. everything works out to your instructions, the sound just isnt functioning correctly. the front speakers are almost inaudible they are so quiet.
im just going to split up my overly-powerful rear channel for the time being. my fader control can be the gain difference between the two channels.

Maybe it's the amp. I had to flick a few switches on the amp before it worked properly, there were settings for 4ch and 2ch for front and rear speakers. And some other settings too, once I figured out what they did I got it working fine.

I'm not an expert on this subject, but I finally undestand enough to know what I'm doing.
I think the VIA motherboard only supports 5.1 audio. If you want 6.1 sound, you would either need to purchase a 6.1 sound card, or splice the side speaker signal in with the front signal. Come to think of it, it seems like that's exactly what Creative Labs says to do.
For 5.1: http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRV...119):obj(4125)
For 7.1: http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRV...75):obj(26180)
The 7.1 setup has the same output jacks from the sound card that the 5.1 has. In this setup, it has cables that essentially splice the side and front input into one jack, green.

@ Maheriano on your original post
not to nit pick, but you seem to have made it for 4.1 surround not 5 ... other than that great instructions, good job.

I did, I left the center channel empty because I don't have one. But if you have an amplifier with the plugin for this channel, I did up the instructions so you can simply plug it in and voila. Good eye!

Awesome, I may be trying this next, as I am redoing my carputer setup with a M10000 mainboard. For those who have done it, how is the sound quality?
