Poll: How long before you car PC FAILED?
I got this idea from a posting in the FAQ Emporium suggesting that we find out who has the longest lasting car PC.
The question is: How long has/did your car PC last? This can be your current installation, or a past installation. If you removed your old installation before it failed, it doesn't count. We're interested in systems that expired due to failure while in the car environment.
Vote ONLY if you car PC has FAILED. If it is working, don't vote.

Where would we be as consumers if we tried to keep every hobby as just that? A hobby?
Where would car audio be?
Where would fast cars be?
Where would home theater be?
Where would better gaming rigs, better console systems, etc. be?

6 years on my previous setup, but I killed it in the house flashing the bios, so in reality it would have lived on for longer.

the biggest problem with this poll is that the guys who haven't had much longevity will be reluctant to participate, while the guys with longevity will go out of there way to participate, giving skewed results...
just stating the obvious, not that theres anything wrong with this poll at all....
I voted 2.5-3, even though I have one that's sitting in a garage still functional from over 10 years ago, but it's been sitting for like 8 years, so that don't really count

This poll is for people who have had systems fail. Pretty much everyone with a working car PC has a system that hasn't failed yet
@turbocad - why do you think people with short-lived systems would hesitate to post it? Not that this is a scientific poll by any stretch of the imagination!

hmmm, maybe your right... I guess people in general will be more willing to brag when they have something to brag about, & less willing to voulenteer defeat stories... maybe not... guess that was just my first impression....
