I have centrafuse 2.0...and when i come out of hibernation the gps is the only thing that centrafuse wont connect too. when i go into device manager it shows that its connected. when i go into the navigation it shows that the gps is not connected.
the only fix i have is to minimize centrafuse..go into device manager..check to see if its connected...then go back into centrafuse...and go to settings and just set centrafuse to com5 which the gps is on already..click save and then it works again...
will devcon help this situation? my touch screen is the only other usb device i have and it works fine out of hibernation...

this sounds more like its Centrafuse messing up than the GPS. When Centrafuse cant connect try hyperterminal (connect hyperterminal to com5) to see if your getting data from the GPS if not then yes devcon will probably sort your problem. If you can see data then Devcon probably isnt going to help. You could try it either way as its only 10 mins work. Does it still do this if you take xport out of the loop? I had all sorts of problems with these bits of software but that was a few years ago so they are probably better now.

well add more fuel to this fire. Today it wouldnt connect at all. when I try to open xport I get this strange error message..something like..error..cannot do operation..please restart system...that was from xport..but it still opens...
like i said before...the gps is connected..i have a blinking red light on the gps unit which indicates it has a lock on the gps satalites...it appears under device manager..
what is hypertermial??

Hyperterminal is a program that comes with windows "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\hypertrm.exe".
GPS only needs voltage to work, it is completely self contained and only sends the data out to the PC. It doesn't need a PC to work. It can also still show in device manager but not work properly as its the driver that can screw up. Your probably spending more time messing about than trying Devcon to see if it works. I would also be tempted to get rid of xport to see if its that that is causing your problem.

Thanks for the guide. Unfortunately I ran into problems. When I try to disable a device (for instance, the Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (which is tied into the driver for my GPS), I get a message saying a reboot is required and the device does not shut down immediately. Same when I try to the Root Hub the GPS is connected to. Any way to override the reboot requirement?

I'm having a problem with my USB webcam turning itself on in the background when coming out of hibernate or suspend using Centrafuse... Could Devcon possibly Help with this issue?
