is there potential to use the FB to control my RF 3sixty?

the Rockford fosgate 3sixty has a pot that connects to the processor via cat-5 cabling. The pot does two vital things... it as a switch that controls whether the main line or aux line are playing, and it controls the volume. The problem is the pot SUCKS. Volume control is just plain clumsy, the first quarter turn of the pot has no effect on the volume then half-way thru the turn its just too loud. In searching for a cure to this thing i thought maybe the FB may help. This is all theorectical now as i dont have a pin out to the pot, but could the FB potentially be hooked up to control these functions thru the computer rather than thru the pot. The most important function i'd like the FB to control is the switch, i'd like to press my XM button thru RR(XM uses the 32sixty's AUX) and have RR run its XM command AND tell the 3sixty to turn on the aux line. Volume control would be great but somehow i doubt that would be possible .

greenman100 is on a distinguished road
both are possible, but you'll need the pinout of the module

Do you have any pictures of the insides? Maybe we can figure something out or a way for you to test it.
