Vehicle Speed Sensor

How would I go about measuring a vehicle speed sensor using a fusion brain 4?

It can't without additional circuitry.

Any advanced details...like cost? And any reason you cant convert the vss pulses into a constant voltage and measure that?

That's what this board does.

It'll probably sell for $9.99.

much faster than you could ever wish to drive.....

most car's have a speed sensor that is a 5V square wave (or a 5v pulse), 1 pulse per revolution... to hit 650 pulses per second, you'de have to be going PRETTY fast...... seeing as for instance, my tires, have a rating of 832 revolutions per mile.......... which is 0.78 miles PER SECOND, 46.875 miles per MINUTE, and 2812.5 miles per hour

lol.........how i wish i could......but never gonna happen

take a look at your car's service manual, maybe you can find out exactly what your speed sensor does

even if lets say your speed sensor had 12 pulses per revolution, you'de still get 234mph out of this...

i'm wondering now if it's not so much that it wont handle whatever speed you could throw at it.....now i'm wondering if maybe the range is so great that it will be insensitive to slow speed or low just not quite accurate enough in a case of a speed sensor with a low pulse rate......
