Ok I have a question, I actually dont want a brain skin as such for some of the values. For instance on my main RR page i would like to have the Internal and external temp displayed in the top right or left.
What string do i need for RR to go and get these values, or is this not easily possible for a laymen like me?

Can you point me in the right direction for acheiving different 'pages' in the skin? I assume that the >>MAIN <<END stuff stays constant. But I see a #PAGE#x property in the inputs and outputs section. In your graphic designer, under global details, I can set the page number, but I don't see it change anything in the skin file. Overall, I'm feeling pretty lost.

It should change pages in the designer. It may however not correctly remove the images from the diplay in the designer for some reason. I am trying to figure that out... But if you click the refresh button or save and then reopen the skin, a new page is a new page.

And to make a button to navigate between pages, it is under an "Other Button" menu.

I get an unhandled exception error, after building a #PAGE# button in the graphic editor, editing it in the text editor, and then going back to the graphic editor. The actual exception happens consistantly, every time I mouse over the new button. I copied the error message if you want it.

Yes the error would be nice. PM it to me if you still have it.

Also the text editor is not fully functional as of yet. This is the first release of it where I have even enabled it!

It doesn't appear that #FONT# and #TXTCOLOUR# work for dead images. I was planning to do the Title/Heading to each of my pages as text, and not an image of text. I just thought it would make the skin a little easier to work with if say, I needed to change a heading. Am I missing something? Also is it possible to have different backgrounds for different pages? Let's say you can't fit all of the gauges on one screen so there's an aux screen for all of your temperatures. It's best to have the gauge/meter faces as the background, right? If -1 is the page # for all pages, with dead images, could it be set that way with backgrounds?

And could you break down what is the minimum needed for FCC to open a skin, I keep getting errors. I'm not sure if I'm putting all of the stuff in the right place. do I have to specify a skin file in FCC somewhere also?

What is with FCC skin designer making all of these folders in the directory Dir____________, Dir____________2, etc. I suppose it takes care of all of the directory making even if I already started one myself. Each time I save the skin I get a new one.

DeadImages barely work at all apparently. I am not sure what the problem is with them, but they seem to not like passing their respective values back to the program. For now I suggest not using them at all.

And you are the second or third to suggest a different background for a different page, so I am going to incorporate that as well.

What error do you get? Is it an "unhandled exception error" or is it an error that tells you the skin line? Or is it an application initialoize error? In order the most likely cause is (i) Correct starting phrase (the part in the ##) but incorrect syntax after that (ii) Incorrect syntax in general with a pointer to where the erorr is (iii) .NET 2.0 framework or above must be installed

It copies the images to a local folder. It should also create a "temp" directory as well that only clears on exit. All the paths in your skin file are relative to that folder. So to run a skin, you need both the skin file and that folder that contains all your images, sounds, logs, everything all setup and ready to go. If you dont have this folder, that may very well be what is preventing you from opening the app. To see what I mean open your skin file in notepad, and look at the path for an image.

Hi, I see no reference to separate sample skins at this link? When I go to the skins tab of the site, there are "examples" of what you can do, but no links... Am I missing something about viewing the website? Does one have to have an account to see other resources? Thanks, Jeff

because since the switch to MDX, the previous skins dont work. And I have had no time to make a lot of skins. This thread is old and for the previous software which is no longer supported.

There are sample skins in the configurator's folder and some skin files in the source directories on the site if you dig around: http://www.fusioncontrolcentre.com/MDX/Source/
