PaulF is on a distinguished road
Have you tried to do a full uninstall and then a normal install?

Did a full un-install. Loaded MDX Only, it worked. Did a full install. My file worked, except the "when" tasks we're hitting. Not knowing if the installation has the most current updates, I told it to update. arg!! Updater started a "flashy" thing, said it was done, and now I'm back to the prior errors. Tomorrow night I try again.

in your configurator directory, delete the GTR template.

Run MDX in debug mode so I can see what the error is.

I started from scratch, but I unplugged the internet before installing, so updater couldn't do its thing. Intalls fine, seems to works fine, except for my "when" tasks. So, I plug in the internet and updater runs. By all the flashing of file names, a number of files are uploaded. Then MDX is broken.

Below is the text listed in the "Details" dropdown:

Ok, you are using it in basic mode. That's why it is failing. Make sure you have DirectX installed.

Run the updater now and the new exe fixes a bug in basic mode when you have an incomplete or corrupt DirectX install.

Also make sure you reboot. Yes this is important.

Booted, it updated, Configurator is fine. Everything "appears" fine but no "when" task. No error messages with debug mode. My files work except for "when", just ignores them. The other machine has no issue with the files.

What is Basic Mode and does my ignorance of it, indcate a greater problem?

Even though your installation does DirectX 9.0, are suggesting re-installing just DirextX?

Lost,

Nothing in the code has changed regarding when

If it has been a long time, you might have them on the wrong timer.

Basic mode is when it cannot make a DirectX layer. Meaning install is wrong, system is old/incompatible, or just generally wrong. So it draws with GDI+ which is slow and a system hog instead. That's why you got that big red X in your error window.

YOu can force basic mode by putting the command line switch of "basicgui". If you are not forcing it, then there is something wrong with the installation or your system.

I would uninstall everything. Download a NEW installer. Then install that. Then restart your system.

Why I hate computers:

Came back today and after the obligatory update . . . everthing works fine! don't know why, don't care. Just glad to have both computers and brains going. The greenhouse and hydroponics thank ya'll.

I learned "if" through Configurator, "when" by whinning for a time, what are some of the other goodies?

Great product.

glad it is working. Sometimes those little gremlins in the computer just want to have fun!

Other goodies such as remote web based control and monitoring perhaps?
