ok this is a easy fix.. get skinning.. :-)

1. goto the folder you installed FreeDrive to. (default - C:\Program Files\FreeDrive)
2. goto skins folder
3. goto silvertouch folder
4. double click on skin.ini
5. locate which textline you want to change..
ie.. eta=350,55,90,60,2,Verdana,26,157178,157178

now if you look above it you will see this line
#TEXT - left,top,width,height,justify,font,fontsize,daycol our,nightcolour
this tells you what all the numbers mean.. so to move the text down alittle..
change

eta=350,55,90,60,2,Verdana,26,157178,157178
to
eta=350,60,90,60,2,Verdana,26,157178,157178

save you skin.. then you dont even need to restart freedrive to see your results, just load the menu (tap the screen) then click cancel. Just place them where ever you want them..

Observation:
<sorry if this has been mentioned in other threads>

When trying to select London followed by street, I get a Run-time error '6': overflow error.

I presume this is because London has got too many streets.

thanks m8.. have fixed it.. will be included in the next version :-)

also bugs I have found..

- Speed freezes sometimes. Also slow at updating.
- takes two attempts to embed into mediacar.

Strange thing with both Mediacar and RoadRunner. If I have this thread open and try to open freedrive, this thread gets embedded.


Or if I have a Map Monkey thread open and try to run Map Monkey in either of those two apps the thread gets grabbed.

lol.. It will because of the title name containing the name its looking for, you could try removing the '*' if you have them from infront - behind the name in the settings of mediacar / rr

Yeah Its hard to get the position right on different machines due to different resolutions, not only is there 800x600, 640x480, 800x480 and 800 x 400, theres also embedding to take into account. I've made the background picture resize. I could make the font change size as well, but do I go off the width change of the label or the height, it might be wider then the original skin, but not as high.. so I decided to leave the font as it is.

Hope you managed to change the text how you want it.. that was the whole point of making it skinnable so you can get it to look just how you want it.

I think I've found a bug, I'm using the Spanish map. When I choose a city and then street ad press Go, when it chooses the route the destination is no where near the street (or even anywhere near the city!) I've choosen.

I've tested it a few times on the uk map, and all seems good.. If you have map monkey installed can you compare them, it may be that its the map information thats wrong.

Map Monkey works fine.

When I choose an address using City and then street, the street list does not relate to the City I've just picked.

TO give you an example, if I pick Madrid and then click Street, there is only about 12 streets in the list and none of these are in Madrid. I've checked the city above and below it in the list and they aren't Madrid either. Also tried my home city of Santiago and these streets aren't in Santiago. I cannot figure out what the relationship is between City and Street.

CDR, Do you have a copy of the Spanish map to see if you can replicate the issue?

dont think I have the spanish maps, got all the rest it seems. Are you using the latest released version ? 0.33 is the current release I think.

There is no spanish map, just the iberia map that has spain and portugal.

Also, I tried what ruairi reported and he is right.

When I select a city in Portugal, the same thing appends, just some streets and not at all from that city.

The mao I'm using is

Iberia:
Spain and Portugal
