Two issues. First is really minor. Whenever you bring up the menu, the map shifts a little bit. It's just an annoyance.
Second is a larger issue, FD is taking up 79% system resources everytime I hit anything. That is after turning off fade effects. This is on a P4 2.8 GHz machine with 512 meg of ram and a PCI video card. Is it supposed to be this cumbersome? I would definetly like to use the fade effects, but they took up 99% of resources.
Thanks
Matthew
Other than that, it looks freaking awesome. I'm taking a test drive as soon as I post this message.

Unsure why your suffering so much cpu usage.. I've tried it on several machines and it doesnt really got over 30%.. and with the fadeeffect turned off it should be the same as any other FD version. Will have a think

Yeah, it worked like a peach on my laptop. Which is a more powerful machine, but it shouldn't make that much of a difference. My old version of FD .85 worked wonderfuly.

Very nice, I'm very happy with this version. Only one problem so far, it seems that CF1.5 cannot work with this new version .CF always states that freedrive is loaded 2 times ... Can you do something about this CDR, or is this up to David to fix?

One more thing that I noticed, which is again not a major issue at all, just a bit distracting is that, when just using it as a map, not having FD guide you somewhere) every little while instead of just updating the street number that you're passing by, the date, lat, long, heading, street info all blink. I wasn't able to notice a real pattern, but it would only happen while I was driving, and I didn't want to spend time looking at the screen, rather than the road.
Oh, another question (sorry if it's to n00by) when you go into the full screen mode, there are two buttons at the top left. One takes you back, but the other is the little hand pointing at "on" or "off." What does that button do?
All in all I'm loving this release more and more by the moment. The skin is beautiful, and is definetly worth doing the update from 0.85
Thanks,
Matthew

This button is made for the touchscreen mode on or off. If it's on and you tap the map, you get the menu made for touchscreen. If it's off, you get the menu which you have to click with the mouse.

Is there a chance to get back the option "hidden" how in the previous release?
