How to disable voice prompt

Hi,

I searched for it but i could find exactly how to disable voice prompt (go left in x meters....). Mapmonkey has a nice button for it to disable/enable these, but probably freedrive has this function too.

I like to enable and disable voiceprompt because most of the time I know the route for most of the route and i only like to have maneauver prompts when I need to know. Its very annoying getting 3 prompts every turn.

thanks

Somehow MapMonkey managed to do it, so I assume it could (ever) be an option for FreeDrive.

click on the map, you should get a menu

click next, another menu replaces the first

click settings, yet another menu with lips icon and voice written underneath. click on that and you can then toggle 5 different voice prompts on or off.

I know that, but I don't ment those voice prompts. I ment the voiceprompts for routing like: 200 meters, go to the left. etc.
I want to turn those voice prompts off.

You can do it with two different folders in interface\voice\ and select with freedrive menu the good one.

I had a "alert only" voice folder but don't remember where is it and from where i get it.

you can do your's : make a copy of your actual folder, edit one alert wav to get a null wav then copy it in all alerts.wav.

you also can make a copy of your folder and simply edit DestinatorVoiceManeuvers.inf to remove all wavs :

change each line like this :
::MC,TURN_LEFT*FIRST_DISTANCE,0,0,t_l;3*2;UNITS,"L eft turn 3/2 miles / three kilometers"
to
::MC,TURN_LEFT*FIRST_DISTANCE,0,0,""

if you want, you can keep poi alerts for radars or whatever you want.

I'm playing with the FD source at the moment, making a few adjustments for my own purposes and the iDrive skin.

I can have a look into this for you.

Want exactly do you want to be able to do?

I want to switch to voiceprompts enabled and disabled. Which actually means to switch to folder with: Alerts_only & All

Just like it is done in MapMonkey

Not really.

I haven't got the manual for the SDK, and can't see from the code available if there is a way to tell Destinator to turn turn by turn instructions off.

I can add a function that edits the destinator.inf file but not sure if destinator actually reads that file again once it has started.
