my opinion, yes the graphics reminds me a cool front end that i use some time ago,i really love it,but with all the problems, with the bugs on every release, with the huge waits on the releases too,i started to use road runner, and i like it,is not that bullet proof, but is very functional and free!,theres a lot of help, and options on the skin department, about this new front end, just keep doing it,maybe all of us can get the best from both worlds,RR and CF,and another thing it is true that you need to change the name not becasue of those guys that dont like youre idea,do it because is your's and it has to have you're personal signature.somebody said to worry soo much for the graphics now,if is going to be skinable theres a lot of good designers here that can help you out in this.i'll say the same, focus on the stability and functionality of this program of your's first.is just my opinion..
and please guys lets wait and see what this new kid in town can do.
what about "PULSAR" .......i just like the way it sounds.

just thought I would let you know.. from a skinners point of view centra is a pain to skin with all the xml crap.. if at all poss could you aim for something like RR where you have individual files for each skin, this makes it lots easier to understand.. thats why 99% of the skins done for cent are just colour changes or jpg changes with all the buttons like there in the original..
looking forward to a beta.. :-)

Just a few words...
When I started RR, it also had a bad name, so just change it like suggested (btw, I like 'FreeWay' too).
In the case of RR, I never intended it to be used other than by myself (I only posted it in the hopes somebody here would want to continue development of it for whatever purposes, or even so people could strip whatever they wanted from the sources). Still I made sure everyone new how I liked MC, and how I just wish I could add/fix/change things in MC myself (which wasn't possible without the sources).. still, MC was and still is free so I was pretty sure I wasn't causing any harm to the author to whom I always had a great deal of appreciation. I for one, don't see this project as "competition" in any way.. if anything, I would love to see the results and maybe merge anything we may find interesting into RR (if you don't mind), cause I sure as heck wouldn't mind if if you used any of RR sources in your project.. that's what open-source is all about.. I mean, as long as we give the due credit to original authors (providers of the source code), I don't think anybody is going to complain..

I also like Freeway. Actually, I've already adopted the name.

You said it yourself -- that's what open source is all about. I plan on keeping my program 100% my code, but you are more than welcome to take what you please for yours once I've released my source.
Nice to hear I have your support.

There will be a ton of people willing to help you out in this forum, provided you demonstrate it is worthwhile spending any time on. Show us the goods, and people will come.... I would be willing to port my Skin to FreeWay (nice name) when the time is right, if I think it is a worthy product.
Surely you have a long ways to go? Unless you're such a gifted coder that you whip up a decent frontend contender in a matter of days (hats off to you my friend if that is the case).

you can do it with draw.. just lines.... the graphics don't matter... if someone here finds it useful to them then the skins will come...
like jit said... get a beta out there.... I'm sure many would like to build a skin if it's good enough for them to use...

I'm picturing freeway with like a road coming out of it from the tail of the Y... is that because that's familiar to me from something else?.... I think I've seen that before, maybe a logo from some rr skin?

I'd say I'm around 80% done.
