is there a way to make any of the menus or screens to work with transparent PNG instead of normal PNGs?

im trying to get so the pink area in the image below shows up transparent, so i can use it as a menu that is overlay on top of the main form and still be able to see the main form

you shouldnt need the pink area at all.. just leave that area transparent when u edit the .png

the pink area is only pink to show as an example which area i need to be transparent on the form. the pink area is actually transparent in the PNG for the skin
