FrodoPlayer SkinMaker Alpha Release
Ok, I've been wrestling whether to release this yet, but I'm sure some
of you would like to try your hand at making a skin, so here is an alpha.
It should be stable.
Instructions:
Under the skins folder, there will be a directory for each skin.
Under each skin folder will be a folder for which section of the app
skinned, currently the only one in here is "BBD", or "Browse by Directory"
All the graphics need to be present in the directories to work properly, my
suggestion is to just copy one of the working skin directories, and replace
the graphics. The graphic types supported are GIF,JPG,BMP, if you replace a
graphic with a different type, you must load that graphic in the skinmaker
and save the ini file so the skin will know which graphic to load, ie
say you have a play.gif and a play.jpg, the skinmaker needs to know which
one to load.
The skinmaker will let you work in fullscreen or windowed mode. And at any
resolution. This will allow you to custom taylor widescreen or strange modes.
All skins will scale to any resolution, however, resolutions will look best when
displayed in the same aspect ratio as originally created.
Sometimes the listboxes may need to be adjusted if loading a skin at different
resolutions, but this is a limitation of the listbox I use, not the skinmaker.
However this should not be too much of a problem as I don't see people
changing resolutions often after they are set up, so just adjust once at
the desired display resolution and save the skin.ini again.
List icons cannot be changed inside the skinmaker, but can be replaced in
their respective folders. The next time you load the skin, the icons you
replaced in the folders should show up. Icons for the directory list and
playlist must currently be in BMP format only, sorry, will fix later.
Please if you make a skin, post a screenshot in this thread.
Also, remember, this is alpha, so bugs may exist, please post them with
an appropriate amount of courtesy and profesionalism.
