this did work with the very first release...

I think mines crashing when I just let it sit.
On my HomePC I just run FrodoPlayer 1.03 and then don't play music. (Press Stop) When I return to it later, it has that error.
I'll test it again when I leave now to go to my friends party. I'll just let it sit doing nothing and see if it crashes.

Ok it seems to do that XP crash thingy on odd occations, however one thing I found that will almost always make it crash, pull the speaker plug out or put it in.
Ok it sounds strange, but it isn't when I explain a bit more. The Jack sense or UAJ on my home computers motherboard senses what type of device is connected to the port (speaker, microphone, etc). When this runs it makes popping sounds in my speakers (this is normal) however it keaps repeating it self when your media player is changing volume (at startup) and then FP (FrodoPlayer) crashes. If it runs its test while FP is running it crashes.
Also on startup sometimes the jacksense just runs for no particular reason, and causes FP to crash.
Now it doesn't ALWAYS crash when the Jacksense runs just most of the time when it does it crashes.

Version 1.0.1 ANd 1.0.3 crashes for me right after playing startup.wav with same old "has encountered a problem and needs to close." error on my Win2K/SP4, where 1.0 was launching fine.
This is whats in my fperror.log file:
25.4.2004 - 1:35:54 - 68 - Device unavailable - frmDB-LoadSettings -

No it is a giga-byte, I think it is the newer vesion of the Jack sense (the UAJ one, whatever that means for you (I think it stands for Universal Audio Jack, but not too sure).

1.03 Crashes while hibernating
I am running 1.01b without any major issues aside from the Radiator.exe trouble. (Got around it by putting an executable in the path that just exits when run.) (Had to rename it radiator). When I try to run 1.03 it crashes as soon as I click the power button. My PC is set up to hibernate when it is pressed. 1.01b does not have this issue. No errors in the error log after it crashes either. Running XP Pro SP1.

I noticed last night while i was working on a skin, if i left the player open and not doing anything it would crash.
Sometimes it crashes when i first run it, then run fines on the second try.
If i unplug any usb devices it will crash. (keybord, mouse etc)
When my phone disconnects from the pc (bluetooth) it will crash
seems like it dosent like it when any of your hardware changes while its running.
I havent had any database related crashes, or crashes while i was trying to do something in the program ( click on this and crash etc).
My log file is full of DVD errors, but i dont currently have a DVD player installed on my home pc or car pc and can only really remember even going to the DVD menu once or twice just to see what it looked like, and wondering if i should skin that area too even though i wont be using it.
I went to sleep last night around 2:00 and left it open playing random songs and it played toons all night without any problems.
Thats it.
Hope the info was helpfull.
oh, some additinal info about my system.
In house
XP Pro
Dual PIII
1GB ram
Tons of crap going on so not really ideal test bed.
In Car
XP Pro Very recent install
P42.6
512MB ram

etc etc etc.

I think my problem is similar to all of the other audio problems. Mine will crash on the first load EVERY time, then on the second load will be fine. It will also crash any time a program other than Frodoplayer trys to play a sound, but only if that program was launched AFTER frodoplayer was already running. Once it has crashed, i can re-launch Frodoplayer and it will be fine as long as the other program was left running.
Hope this helps Frodo.
Awesome program btw, i think you're gonna be my first freeware donatee...

Version 1.0.4
While building database, around 3800 or so it closes and wont restart until about the 4th click. It seems to remember everything else that was set except the mp3's that it didnt get to. Also, the voices will toggle off for the most part, but the shutdown one stays still. I have had it refuse to fire up on the first click most of the time. It will start to load, get thru the bra part, with no player showing, and then stop.
Love the new features! Keep up the sweet work!

Update..ok, i just retried it and it went just fine. I wonder if it just didnt like me going thru all the screens and changing stuff while it was building the database? Maybe I just need to learn patients

Try to make sure you have all the requirements in the announcements, and try it again please. Even the one it doesn't seem like you need. I may have an error and if it works after you install everything it will be easier to find.
Thanks
Frodo

I can not get into the control panel thing in 1.04, I could in 1.01 however. It has in the fperrorlog.txt file
29/04/2004 - 5:27:54 PM - 339 - Component 'MSCOMCT2.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid - frmDB-goSettingsMenu -
I think I accidently unresitered/uninstalled it when I removed 1.01, however I think the installer should install it, I will try and manually register/install the file on the computer and will post back.

The announcement has a link to download the latest VB runtimes, that should fix it. Please post back if it doesn't.

Sorry for the wait, I've installed everything there (other than Monkeys Audio) and it still isn't working, also everytime I install something new, the first Time I run frodo player, it does that XP 'this program has encounted a problem and must shut down' or something like that.
