Actually I have them filtered out. But I will be making that customizable in the future.

I just started using frodo player in leiu of terrible no good very bad problems with mediacar... and i have run into a few kinks.

1) Im sure this was mentioned everywhere, but i cant seem to find what the deal is with the reversed scrolling. Also, i swear the thing is screwing with y head, the scrolling reverses it self repeatedly leaving me turning around again and again trying to find a certain artist in the list. Perhaps its just too many late nites in the garage with the spraypaint.

2) Can i readily assume you double tap the vis to get it fullscreen? When i do so, the screen goes black, then a few secs later just goes back to the player.

3) When hitting the scrolling arrows for the artist area, it seems that in some combinations of timed taps the on screen keyboard comes up and i have to close it.

4) Concerning the on-screen keyboard, whenever i tap in a letter, it waits for a few secs, then puts three letters in there. When using my ps2 keyboard, it types in fine.

5) The most problematic problem i am having: most of my mp3's do not play at all. For instance, when i hit "linkin park" for hte artist, all my linkin park songs show up. It seems that all the songs from reanimation and hybrid theory simply do not play. When hitting the play button it just sits there, no vis or song-time movement. But when hitting songs from meteora, or many other albums, it works just fine. I have all my mp3s tagged as id3v2 with some lyrics and all cover art, im not sure if that has anything to do with it. All have similar naming convetions as well, i cannot seem to find the difference.

I think the problem here is not with frodoplayer, but windows media player. Are you able to run full screen visualizations in wmp? I had this same issue and had to go into windows media player tools/options/plugins/visualizations and set each visualization to my screen resolution. That lets me double tap to get full screen. However, I still can't get back to frodoplayer on some of the visualizations by tapping the full screen visualization (works on some - not on others).

Do they work in wmp? I had a few that would not play in frodoplayer, but I found that they wouldn't play in windows media player either. I did a search for some codecs that allowed me to play them.

Hope that helps with some of your issues..

more news on that some-songs-not-playing thing

ive narrowed down the issue to all the songs that have id3v2 tags, it will not play. it will not play in wmp either, but it does play in winamp and creative media center

i even took a song, used winamp to erase the id3v2 tag, and it then worked just fine in frodo player... i would hope theres a way around this

or else there goes alll teh countless hours i spent tagging the lyrics and album art lol

the article linked above is microsoft's bug report for the issue im having problems with

the hotfix you download does not seem to work at all for solving the issue...

i supposed i could try rebooting, but for now i'm gonna google and see if theres a 3rd party fix

so the reversed scrolling thing has an option to change that i suppose

i found a program called media monkey or something like that that let me batch-remove all my id3v2 tags from my mp3s. now almost all of them play fine... found a NiN album that wouldnt play that didnt have any tags at all, not sure whats up with that

the on screen keyboard lag and screwups were due to the option to immediatley update the search results, and with 11000 songs, it got kinda dicey, works fine w/o that option

now the only problem im having is that when i have frodoplayer going, and i shut the car off, the puter goes into s3 standby, when i start the car later and it comes back from standby, the volume is at 0% in frodoplayer, but the actual sound level is where it was before, i just cannot change it within frodoplayer. If i close frodoplayer open up my creative audio mixer (just volume control), and move the slider once, and open frodoplayer again, the volume control works fine. I'm assuming tho that this is a wmp problem.. boo

I have a problem with Frodo's volume controller too. When I start up my computer (FP in autostart) The volume goes up to 100% the first second then it goes down to 0% and starts fading up to where it was when I closed the carputer. This is not so good for my speakers. Any solution to this?

Yeah, mine starts up really loud, "WHY ARE WE WEARING BRAS ON OUR heads......ceremonial." then goes quiet and builds up just like yours.

Also when the player scans/adds my MP3 files it locks up at track 171 out of 3000+. I have to end task and the player only has the first 171 songs in my MP3 directory. It looks like others have had this problem, is there a fix?

1.08 shouldn't do that. Did you update ? Or am I insane and left that in and

I believe I patched to 1.08, Do I just copy the 1.08 patch over the executable in the installation file?

I'll have to hook up a floppy (if I can find it) to get the error log from that machine to my desktop.

UPDATE: There are two error logs in the FrodoPLayer directory, both are blank when I open in both notepad and wordpad???

I have 1.08
One strange thing is that this only happens when I start up FP for the first time (since last boot). If I exit FP and starts it up again it doesn't do the volume thing.

Yes, to make sure you can get a properties on the file and it should say 1.0.0.8
